I paid $3.49 for mine a few months back. I still like it. My tastes are more to the American pale ale side than the IPA side of the scale so perhaps that explains it. If you really want the pale, dry taste, I would look for Dogfish Head's Shelter Ale if that's available near you. I think you would enjoy it. cheers

Why do I get the feeling... (Reply to this comment)

That some brewers in Newport, Oregon listened to too many Frank Zappa albums? :-) Seriously, I wonder where they obtained the hops? They grow excellent hops in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, but until recent times, much of the beer brewed in the Pacific NW has been mediocre at best. Horrible at it's worst. Not going to mention any brand names, as I don't need a lawsuit. I'm glad to hear that the brewing industry in Oregon seems to have improved in quality.
Regards, Mike

I had to rate it lower as for me it didn't typify the style too well and just seemed a little off balanced. Very drinkable for sure, but I don't think it's for the average pale ale drinker.
I'm going back for a refund, how much should I have paid?

Nice review. Reading yours made me want to find some more. I can't get find this in northern NJ so far. It is available in Connecticut at a cheaper price than California? That's interesting. A highly drinkable piece of brewing by Rogue and a quality beer. cheers
