A trip east would be fun, but SF is certainly more convenient.

I see, sir, that you are still drinking the stuff, and that your long tongue has reached San Francisco. Don't listen to this guy; just come up here.
Regards.

The other sixer was the blonde bock. But i didn't really get what I was hoping for.
I envy you in the east, I wish I could hop on a train from brewpub to brewpub. Even worse I'm in So Cal, the best microbrews are quite a distance.

Only in the West! (Reply to this comment)

Great review, great beer, but...
"Lager’s brewed in the USA are something of a weak effort, and not viewed favorably." Andrew, you MUST come East! I spent last weekend enjoying the lagers of Penn Brewing in Pittsburgh (Pils, Fest, Dark) and this weekend enjoying lagers at Stoudt's (Pils, Fest) and I might get to Victory on Thursday (Pils, Fest, Export, Hellerbock). DeGroen's Rauchbock and Doublebock are in the fridge, with a bottle of Dominion Spring Bock. GREAT lagers! Poor you, mired in Ale-ifornia! Glad you found a good one, hope the other sixer is the Blonde Bock.
Cheers,
Lew Bryson
