I've been in and out of epinions a couple of times over the past 2 years,
but now my profile page speaks pretty much only of beer. As my friends will
tell you that pretty much sums me up. I spend most of my time as a beer hunter
and beer advocator (although those two titles are currently taken by
individuals wiser than myself), and that's how I see my role at epinions.
I'm a restaurant manager at The Yard House, home of 150 draft beers and I'm
constantly preaching all things beer. If there's one thing I've noticed, it's
that, while the US is probably the most vibrant beer market in the world, the
US consumer is certainly not the most knowledgeable. People tell me all
the time that they don't like beer or that they don't like dark beer but what
they mean is that they just haven't found one that they like yet. I've never
met a non-beer drinker yet that doesn't like a Lindemans Framboise. There is
much to learn and appreciate about beer and there really is a wide selection
of choices out there for everyone. Check out some of the fine work submitted
by some of epinions many fine beer reviewers:

When I knew nothing about beer a few years ago, there
was John with over 300 beers. That was my first ever encounter with someone
actually writing about beer, and inspired me to go on and do likewise. The name
bruguru pretty much says it all and I have learnt a great deal from him since
I've been at Epinions. I'm not sure if I should actually thank him for turning
me into a beer hunting, reading and collecting freak. |

Tom writes excellent reviews in pretty much every
gourmet category and is one of the greatest assets to epinions. His beer reviews
are always insightful and informative, while his broad tastes offer a truly
unique approach to beer reviewing. Tom has also offered me a great deal of
advice and assistance on epinions and also on the web as a
whole. |

Another asset to epinions with his depth of beer
knowledge and contributions over the last couple of years. I'm often envious of
George's glowing reviews of some of the east coast brews I can't get a hold
of. |

A rare British contributor to Epinions beer reviews,
and not only that a joke with every review. |
 |
A great contributor to many epinions categories. His
beer reviews are always in-depth with plenty of researched information and
detailed tasting notes. Bryan always manages to sum up the beer so well in his
verdict. |

A master of the beer review with plenty of background
information that is always educational. Mark's reviews almost always come with
the origins of the beer style that make interesting reading for anyone. I have
learned a great deal from his reviews. His tasting notes are also among the most
descriptive and thorough that I have seen. |

Beerlover is no understatement and John often tells of
his pursuits in search of fine and unusual beers. His descriptions are
especially perceptive and like fuche_bu he leaves me yearning for many east
coast beers that I will never find. |
 |
That's my dog Dylan demonstrating his fine taste for
the Belgian beer Kwak. Of course he's never written a beer review nor is he a
member of epinions. The problem is that if I created an account for him I'd
probably be accused of it being a
duplicate. |
is it just my imagination or do beer reviewers not like
posting pictures of themselves.
